No, the U.S didn't have their best team in and they will definitely improve a fair bit. They're going to have to though. I'm pretty certain the World Record will go.
South Africa have 2 of the 3 fastest swimmers in the world this year, but nobody really thought their other swimmers were quite good enough to match it with the USA who have 4 of the top 10. Looks like maybe they are! [ This Message was edited by: sportznut on 2004-08-15 19:24 ] |

At this stage, I reckon it's a definite two horse race for gold between USA and South Africa with Australia, Russia, Italy and the Netherlands all battling for the bronze. I'm not confident at the moment, but if Australia is any chance when Thorpe gets in the pool, he'll probably get them home for a medal because he's such a great finisher.
