i must admit this is something i have over looked trebles are a bit to costly for me quinelas are ??well theres 1 in every race ..but the double..now theres the one ..of course i have discovered this in hind sight i would love to know if there is any one who actualy only bets the dd....

This is one of the most challenging things to be consistant at.

Here are some ideas you may like to improve on.

Race to race Doubles can be good if one targets only one venue per day because the cost can really blow out for a bad result on the wrong day if betting more than one venue.

In these race to race doubles , select the 3 selections of a reliable tipster e.g. UniTAB selections.
Cost 3x3=9 per double.
This gives us 7 doubles on an 8 race program.
Try & avoid meetings where there are a number of races with 15 or nore starters .This usually represents low SR
e.g. Cup meetings .
Try & avoid meetings where there are a number of races with 8 & less starters .This usually represent low value.

For the TAB Extra & Daily Doubles.
These tend to be harder to get for some reason.
One thing that has its moments is to select 3-4 runners in the leg with the least amount of runners of the 2 legs (10-14 runners) & bet it with the 7 pre-post favs from the newspaper ,for the other leg with the most runners
(10-14 runners).
The 7 pre-post favs have a SR of 87%

Try & target Doubles races which have both have 10-14 runners so as to try & get some value to SR.

There is a Doubles Punting tool on Ozracetools that can work out the decimal odds (Dollar Price where it says Odds) for you so that one can stager the amounts placed on individual combinations.
What one can do is enter the $ price of the runners as per newspaper & it is uncanny how close the final price to this calculation becomes when the price odds are combined in this fashion.
