Default "the big 3"

since i have been following racing since the mid 70's i can only think of 1 horse - Might and Power, that has won "the big 3" - the Caulfield Cup, the Melbourne Cup and the Cox Plate......can anybody name any others??

....did Phar Lap win "the big 3"??

In 1954 Rising Fast won them all in the one year!

technically speaking so did might and power ....he won them in the same season....

No he didn't. He won the Caulfield & Melbourne Cups in 97 and won the Cox Plate in 98. Still a magnificent performance but they weren't in the same year or same season.

And for good measure, Rising Fast came out & won the Next Caulfield Cup as well, and then, after a torrid run & carrying a big weight managed 2nd in the Melbourne Cup.
