us racing

do any of you guys bet on us racing with tabcorp of a morning?

i am interested in us racing and think that it provides an opportunity to take advantage of local fixed odds. however, i tried to place a number of moderate bets this morning and found it so frustrating.

i had all my bets reduced from my original request and some reduced outright.

at turf paradise they moved a price out from $2.30 to $2.50 - i asked for $350 and had my bet reduced to $50 @ $2.50 - to win $75!

a little later i tried to have a bet at portland. i requested a bet of $200 @ 3.8 to only have my bet rejected outright and the price reduced to 3.2. undeterred i asked for $250 @ 3.2 straight away, only to have it rejected and the price reduced to 2.9. i know that other people are betting as well but, these are not large bets and were placed as soon as the prices changed. i thought it was a 7/4 chance and it duly won.

why would a $3billion company be afraid to lay something for a monkey?

there were other examples throughout the morning. honestly i dont know why they bother.

Hi rufustfirefly
Have the occasional US flutter myself but with sportsbet
Some bets similar size
No probs so far
Think they tap into the US Tote
AUD to US$ conversion
But as I've said, only the occasional wager

Hong Kong's annual International Jockeys' Championship on shortly. “Magic Man”, Joao Moreira would have to be a good chance. Strong international lineup.

IJC record: 9th - 2010; 1st - 2012; 2nd - 2014

jimmyz 27th November 2015 12:37 PM

Hugh Bowman will represent Australia.
IJC record: 7th - 2009

kiwiz 29th November 2015 07:07 AM

Hi jimmyz
Kiwi James McDonald also a contender
Finished 2nd in 2011 & 3rd in last years' championship
Given McDonald has been based in Oz for a while now would have been nice to also see someone like Opie Bosson representing NZ

kiwiz 29th November 2015 08:36 AM

I think one of my favorite hoops,,Brett Prebble,,might be a contender as well
Runner-up one year,,but that was a while back
Anyone seen a market?

kumite 29th November 2015 10:25 PM

just read related article
HK$800,000 to the winner
that's over 140K AUD by my reckoning
not a bad contest to be in

Hey kumite
I think you'll find that the HK$800,000 is to be shared by the top three performing riders
