Read somewhere that yesterday may have been his last race (going out on a winning note) |
According to an interview yesterday (with Tapdog's jock Roy McKay) they plan to start Tapdog in the Australia Day Cup at Ascot next. Tapdog won the Geraldton - Australia Day Cups double last year.

Thanks watsonnek! I guess the D_O_G will continue to wag his tail :)

Paula Wagg trained Real Cheeky has been sold to Hong Kong interests and would not start in WA again.
Vain Crusader is currently having a lengthy spell with a view to campaigning on the East Coast later this year. However still the subject of huge offers from both Hong Kong and within WA. |
Thanks westi, was wondering where Real Cheeky had got to
|
I know there is races which have classes of 1,2,3,4,5,6...listed, group 3,2,1.

Maybe not watsonnek :( The Tapd_o_g got stripped back right leg in the GC and pulled up lame. Possibility of bone damage. |
Not good news westi. Let's hope no bone damage.

Marasco
Marasco looked a ball of muscle during his track gallop between races at Ascot on Saturday, and everything is in order for the Fred Kersley trained gelding to start in the Australia Day Stakes at Ascot next Saturday. He will then be off on a Vic campaign commencing with the CF Orr Stakes & culminating with the Australian Cup.

I wonder if Fred is still taking Cape North east as well. Subject of some substantial wagers past two starts & did show a bit of form most recent. |

Not much joy for Fred Kersley (injury) and his stable (winners) of late. Hopefully Marasco can help change all that!
|
Any comments on last Saturday's 'boat-race' - race 5. The final sectional for 2nd, 3rd & 4th were all faster than the winner Silver Seam. The race time of 1:23:39 was well outside the race record of 1:22:19. Perhaps the jockeys on the losing runners (beaten 8 lens + ) should be sent back to apprentice school!!

I do hope Mr Sandgroper can win so he can be set for the Adelaide Cup, and then hopefully the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups there after.
I'm taking Marasco on, I think the 59 is too much. Class might see him through though. I am going for City of Ruins, to ruin the day for Marasco. That's is... Race 3 Number 1 Mr Sandgroper Race 4 Number 2 City Of Ruins |

Hi Neiltown :) Nice get Stark Smith! |
Greg Childs has been named Marasco's rider for his Victorian Autumn campaign after Damien Oliver turned down the ride to continue his partnership with El Segundo.
Childs may also partner Kersley's 2YO filly Jestatune in the $250K BMW Magic Millions Perth 2yo Classic on 14 February. |
Sounds like Damien was as impressed (not) as I was with Marasco's run on the weekend. Will need to improve heaps to be competitive in the east!
