Perth Cup winner Respect is now set to tackle the Wellington Cup over 3200M in NZ January 27!

Is the break between enough for Respect to recover from yesterdays run & be ready for another 2 miler? Has to be the big question!

Less than 4 weeks between the Brisbane Cup win & his first start in WA. And something like 5 weeks between cup runs. Should be just about race fit for the Wellington Cup :D

On the serious side its a wonder Respect is still on the racetrack. His past injuries include, an injured tendon, a cracked shoulder, damaged sesamoid bone and a fetlock joint slab fracture!

Hi westi. As you've just seen James The Jet is not the horse he was this prep. Normally comes to hand quickly. Now [including todays] 5 runs since a break & yet to show any glimpse of real form. Once he finds his form I'm sure he'll string together a few wins ;)

Looking at the times run at todays Belmont trials very surprised to see the fastest heat was won by a neddy called Electric Storm.

I thought this fellow had well & truly retired!

A total of 5 starts - 4 of which were run in 2004 :eek: 5th & last start back in June 2005 was injured as unplaced fav over 1000M at Belmont. If he remains sound it could be one of the comebacks of 2007!

Fingers crossed for Electric Storm's connections!

I note Canny Jack also performed well yesterday. I'm sure George Daly would have been elated with the performance!

Electric Storm, blitzed the field in good time. Phormium (same heat) a soft run and looks to be ready to win.

Canny Jack did it with ease, settled second last, came wide around the turn and was hard held over the line. Very good win.

At Ascot today the grey brigade will be represented by Neige and Roman Time in the 1st. Both have strong chances. Same race Sharev makes her race debut. The 5th Spider Strikes can go well fresh. The 7th Silver Seam suited the extra distance. The 8th Mexican Mist all the better for recent racing.

R2 Both Metro Miss & Mr President put in good runs today & should continue the form.

R3 Carrallen Storm has finally put in. Hopefully will continue.

R5 Spider Strikes only got warm late.

R6 Another Mak crying out for more ground.

R7 Stratazoa gutsy win & can continue.
